Government Approves Apprenticeship Scheme for Young Entrepreneurs

Impact Hub King’s Cross is pleased to announce that the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills has approved the apprenticeship standard for entrepreneurs.

This initiative, led by UnLtd, has been chaired by Alberto Masetti-Zannini, Development Director at Impact Hub King’s Cross; ‘I have been working with UnLtd and a ‘trailblazer’ group of over 100 employers for over 18 months to develop this standard, and I am delighted the government has given green light to this innovative Apprenticeship. With nearly half of people aged 18-30 wanting to start their own business and many wanting to start social enterprises in particular, we are glad to offer a standardised programme to facilitate this. I will continue to work with UnLtd and the employers’ group to develop an assessment framework’.

The programme which aims to be piloted in 2017, defines the knowledge and skills that apprentices will be expected to have and the behaviours they will demonstrate by the end of their apprenticeship. Any employer or training provider wishing to become involved is encouraged to write to [email protected].
