Through the Boosting Life Sciences & Social Economy programme, we delivered a community health entrepreneurship Incubator supported residents of Camden and Islington in transforming their ideas into businesses that enhance community health and well-being.
About the programme
This free programme provided aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools, mentorship, and networks needed to bring their socially driven business ideas to life.
Participants benefited from:
- Engaging Online Learning Modules – Practical insights to develop and refine business concepts.
- Personalised 1:1 Support – Tailored guidance from experienced mentors.
- Interactive Expert-led Workshops – Skill-building sessions with industry leaders.
- Valuable Networking Opportunities – Connections with peers, partners, and potential funders.

Who took part?
We welcomed participants who:
- Were residents of Camden or Islington.
- Had a visionary idea to improve health and wellbeing.
- Were eager to learn, collaborate, and take action.
- Did not yet have a registered business or social enterprise engaged in economic activity.
Tackling key community challenges
Through community consultations, we identified priority areas where participants developed solutions, including:
- Poverty & Deprivation – Offering affordable healthcare services like screenings and consultations.
- Long-term Health & Life Expectancy Gaps – Launching community-based fitness and nutrition initiatives.
- Environment & Wellbeing – Establishing green spaces such as community gardens for sustainable food access.
- Food Security – Creating cooperative grocery models for more affordable, nutritious food options.
- Children’s Health & Safety – Designing after-school programmes that promote mental and physical well-being.
