New Roots is a mentoring and peer-to-peer programme for local entrepreneurs from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds in Camden and Islington.
New Roots has empowered individuals from underserved communities to achieve their professional goals and launch sustainable businesses.
Who we supported
The latest edition of New Roots prioritised individuals who are:
- From a Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic background
- Based in London
- Developing an idea or early-stage business, ideally with a sustainability or climate focus
What participants received
- 1:1 Mentoring – Guidance from professionals and expert-led workshops.
- Peer Support – A strong network of like-minded entrepreneurs.
- Networking – Access to climate-focused organisations and business leaders.
- 1:1 Coaching – Personalised business and career development support.
- Workspace – Access to a collaborative coworking space in Central London.
- Confidence – Empowering individuals to take their ideas forward.
- Community – Building connections and shared learning opportunities.

New Roots was part of the Empower by GoDaddy programme, a social impact initiative that provides training, tools, and resources to entrepreneurs in underserved communities. Since its inception in 2017, Empower by GoDaddy has formed partnerships across 43 cities in the U.S. and Europe to make entrepreneurial opportunities more inclusive for all.
